LIFE SKILLS

What is a Life Skills Classroom?  The Life Skills classroom is available to students who are referred to and qualify for special education services.  The main focus of the Life Skills classroom is transition.  Students will work to function independently in the community and in life.  These courses emphasize academics, social skills, occupational skills and community living skills.  The course curriculum will be driven by student’s needs as stated in each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).  Peer tutors will supplement courses by aiding in the development of social skills, academics and by participating in inclusion activities.
